FACULTY ASSOCIATION
MEMBERSHIP: All full- and part-time faculty members employed by the university college are members of the Faculty Association. OBJECTIVES: The objectives of the Association are: to support and uphold the vision and mission of St. Mary’s University College as a liberal arts and sciences university college in the Roman Catholic tradition committed to teaching and academic excellence; to promote independence and freedom of teaching, of thought, and of research within the university college; to promote and foster full-time, tenure track positions at St. Mary's; to promote and to represent the common interests and welfare of the faculty of the university college; to represent St. Mary's faculty within the larger Canadian academic community by maintaining an active membership in the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT); and to foster community among the faculty. EXECUTIVE: The Faculty Association President is elected to a two-year term. All other positions are filled annually. Elections to the executive are held each year in April. Nominations are to be received by the last working day in March. For a listing of the current executive, contact Dr. Luke Bresky, Faculty Association President. MEETINGS: Faculty Association meetings are held at least once each term. CAUT: St. Mary’s University College is a member of the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT).
