St. Mary’s University College is a founding member of the Alberta Colleges Athletic League, and continues to provide vision and leadership to this body. The league is composed of small colleges and has affiliated members in Alberta and Saskatchewan. More information on ACAL can be found at www.acal.ab.ca.

St. Mary’s University College was accepted into the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) in May 2010. Lightning basketball teams began competing at this level in Fall 2012. This transition to the ACAC will eventually result in all Lightning varsity teams competing at the ACAC level. More information on the ACAC can be found at www.acac.ab.ca.
