Ronald P. Mathison
Restoration of the historic Lacombe heritage buildings was made possible by a $1.2 million donation from local businessman Ronald P. Mathison. The donation was made in memory of his mother, Mary Theresa Mathison (nee Cush), and as a tribute to close friend Monsignor Joseph E. Le Fort (for whom the building is now named).

The grand opening of the Le Fort Centre was held on June 30, 2007. The Centre contains three classrooms, a bookstore, a cafeteria and student gathering space.

"The opening of the Le Fort Centre directly impacts the quality of education for our students, providing additional space where they can learn, study and interact," said Dr. Terry Downey, president of St. Mary's University College. "Located at the very heart of our campus, the spirit of the Le Fort Centre will serve as a model for all future campus development as our student population grows."
