Book a Consultation

The Learning Centre believes that providing students with individualized academic support improves grades, while giving students the opportunity to augment their academic experience in the areas of writing, research, and critical skills.

What to Bring to Your Academic Consultation
The Learning Centre offers 30 minute or 1 hour consultations depending on your needs. In order to get the most out of your individual appointment please bring the following materials with you: a copy of your assignment and the work you have done so far, any specific questions you have, a positive attitude, and a desire to improve your writing.

What the Learning Centre Can Do For You:

  • Clarify assignments by helping you brainstorm and construct outlines, and give you feedback on content and organization of your drafts.

  • Provide assistance with grammatical and mechanical errors that show up consistently.

  • Help you learn more about APA, MLA and Chicago citation styles.

  • Assist in the areas of time management, academic planning, and study habits.

Please Note:
The Learning Centre is NOT a proofreading service. Your work will not be “fixed” or edited.

  • Your paper doesn't need to be completed before your appointment. The Learning Centre Coordinator will work with you based on what you have completed already.

  • The Learning Centre is here to help you improve your own grammatical and academic skills, and as such, stresses the importance of helping students identify errors in their writing, as opposed to correcting them.

Drop In Questions
